Manual asphalt research
This manual for the asphalt research 2013 is an update and extension of earlier versions published by the VBW (Department of Bituminous Works) of Bouwend Nederland.
Included are the most common tests that are carried out in an asphalt and road construction laboratory. The test descriptions are adapted to current (European) standards.
It is a workbook where the formal test descriptions have been translated into practice as much as possible. In addition, many test descriptions have been supplemented with tips, explanations, tables, calculation examples and references to literature.
The title of the publication does not cover the cargo. In a road construction laboratory, a lot of research is also done on foundation materials. That is why this manual has been supplemented with the most common tests in this area.
This manual is a tool for everyone involved in asphalt research. For the less experienced laboratory technician
it a tool in the field of training and education. For the experienced laboratory technician a reference book for tests that occur less frequently. Moreover, reference is made to other standards in many test descriptions. In this publication all references are included directly where possible with the test description.
